FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHERE DO I FIND MY MODEL NUMBER AND SERIAL NUMBER?

Both tags will be found on the inside of the blind typically, near the top of blind sewn into the seam. (any tag sewn in the bag/backpack is not relevant). An example of a serial number would be: 8393-GR251BT-21.

  • 8393 (or other sets of numbers) are internal designators
  • GR251BT (or other sets of numbers) is your model number
  • “21” (or other numbers) means the year of manufacture

CAN I LEAVE MY BARRONETT BLIND OUTDOORS FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME?

Barronett blinds are designed for portability. Ideally you should not leave set up when not in use due to damage from outdoor elements such as sunlight, wind, storms and snowfalls. However, we understand the necessity to leave it set up for short periods of time during the hunting season. Proper securing using tie-down ropes and ground stakes can help prevent unnecessary damage. However, damage to your blind such as broken poles or torn skins due to unattended use is not covered under your warranty.

WILL MY BARRONETT BLIND FADE OR DISCOLOR?

UV light breaks down lightweight fabric fibers and the material will fade and lose strength if left in prolonged sunlight. Fading and/or discoloring of the camo/blind is not covered under your warranty.

HOW DO I GET REPLACEMENT PARTS FOR BARRONETT BLINDS?

Yes, we offer a full line of replacement poles, hubs, mesh windows, storage bags, etc. if you should happen to need to replace any of these items. Visit us at www.ardisam.com for your service needs. Be prepared to provide your model number and year of manufacture to search for parts which can be found on the serial number tag on the inside of blind.

WHAT COMES IN THE BARRONETT BLIND BOX?

Along with the blind, you also receive a carry bag (over-sized accordingly to easily put the blind back in with ease), tie-off ropes and ground stakes.

ARE BARRONETT BLINDS WATERPROOF?

The fabric is constructed with a water repellency process although the seams are not sealed/taped. It is normal to have some leaking occur around seams or zippers or in extremely wet conditions.

CAN I SHOOT THROUGH THE MESH WINDOWS?

Most hunters prefer to use the mesh as cover only to see out but not necessarily shoot through. However, the mesh windows are designed so that you can indeed shoot fixed broadheads through them. Arrow trajectory doesn’t seem to be a factor, but we recommend doing practice shots prior to get used to it. We do not recommend shooting mechanical broadheads through the mesh as they may open prematurely. Firearms are not mean to be used to shoot through the mesh as muzzle flash will melt/burn the mesh. Replacement mesh windows are available for most blinds.

WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND USING TO MAKE THE BLIND MORE WATER RESISTANT?

Any type of over the counter silicon spray will help to enhance the water repellency of the fabric as well as a seam sealer to seal the seams better. This process may need to be reapplied from time to time per the spray manufacturer’s directions.

WHAT IS OXHIDE™ FABRIC?

OxHide™ fabric is a unique 2-layer fabric design that offers a second interior layer of fabric. The outside layer offers a high definition camo print with a brushed surface to reduce glare. It has a DWR (durable water repellent) coating with a waterproof polymer backing. The reinforcing interior fabric layer is solid black in color. Since it is actual fabric and not a coating, it won’t crack or peel and blocks light for better concealment.

ARE YOUR BLINDS HANDICAP ACCESSIBLE?

Most of our blind designs have a vertical corner door that splits apart at the bottom allowing wheelchair access. An additional tip is to simply pop in the wall hub adjacent to the door and lift the bottom of the blind up which allows for an even larger door opening for handicapped hunters to more easily enter or exit the blind.

ARE HOLES IN THE SEAMS NORMAL?

You may see pin holes in the seams of the blind which are naturally created by the sewing machine needle during the manufacturing process. This is an unavoidable manufacturing process and normal to see. If leaking occurs, you can remedy it by applying a seam sealer designed for fabric application. These are often found in camping sections of retail stores or online.

WHY CAN I SEE SMALL LIGHT HOLES IN MY BLIND SKIN?

If you see very tiny light holes across the roof or wall panels they are not holes in the fabric, they are simply inconsistencies caused during the coating process. Again, this is normal and should not cause leaking of water in those areas since the water proofing process of the fabric is done before the coating process.

WHAT TYPE OF GROUND STAKES COME WITH A BARRONETT BLIND?

Depending on the model of blind, we offer several types of ground stakes from simple wire form designs to all terrain stakes used in our high-end models. We also offer heavy duty tie-down kits that include larger stakes and cam buckle tie-off straps if you’re looking to upgrade.

CAN I ATTACH MY BARRONETT BLIND TO A TOWER STAND?

You may do so at your own risk, however, we do not recommend doing this as Barronett blinds are designed to be portable. Leaving them up mounted on top of a tower stand leaves them very susceptible to damage from wind, storms, snow and sunlight that is not covered under your warranty.

MY LOCAL HUNTING LAWS REQUIRE A BLAZE ORANGE COVER ON THE BLIND, DO YOU OFFER SOMETHING?

Yes, we offer a blaze orange safety cap (model #AV180 for 4 sided blinds and #BA704 for 5 sided blinds) that offers up to 144 square inches on each side of the roof.

I HAVE A TEAR IN MY SKIN, HOW DO I REPAIR IT?

We offer a patch kit (Model #BA701) that consists of a 24” x 24” piece of heavy duty brown fabric. Simply use a fabric adhesive spray (not included) to apply the patch to the area with the tear. A curved needle and braided fishing line can also be used for added peace of mind.
